As I procrastinate and avoid preparing my preso for the Lausanne Laptop Institute in Memphis next week, I’ve been thinking about how I’ll spend my downtime. Here are a few resources which might be helpful to Laptop Institute attendees:
- This year they’ve created a conference app, available for Android or iOS. Download it here.
- On Twitter, follow the tag #li12.
- Check out the Memphis Transit info for the trolley map. It runs in a nice loop through the downtown and is really inexpensive.
- I created my own Google Map of handy places as I explore the downtown area. I included places I’ve been in previous years and/or plan to go this year. Of course, you’re just a couple blocks from Beale Street, but this map will help you find Starbucks, Walgreens, ice cream, and a nice little grocery/deli. And if you really need some help persuading people to listen to you when you get back to school in the fall, there’s a cool voodoo shop on the map as well.

Frequent attendees, what am I missing?
And for folks from my school reading this, I will be learning/collaborating my tail off. The info above just helps me do it more efficiently
